    Hi,

I have all my portfolio categories set up but when I set up a portfolio item to have more than one the related posts at the bottom only bring in the first category listed.

How can I get the related posts to bring in all projects for all categories listed?

    thanks!
    Tim

    Hi Tim,

I cannot replicate this, can you test this with all plugins disabled – leaving only the Swift Framework & WooCommerce active?

    Thanks.

You couldn’t replicate the problem on our site?

    If not, go here: http://weareinfrared.com/portfolio/columbia-records/

This Case Study Portfolio Item has 4 categories yet is only pulling in on related project which both have the same first category.

Is this how it is on your end too?

    Hi,

Sorry, I meant on my dev version.

Have you tested updating to WP 4.4 also?

    Thanks.

I have not tried updating wp yet. That’s a scary move – especially so close to our deadline. May try later.

And I will try disabling all plugins except those you suggested this evening. The site is being presented to the CEO of the company right now and I don’t want to mess up their experience.

The only plugins I’ve added: Post Types Order, RSS Importer, WordPress Importer, and Duplicate Post

Could any of those be the problem?

I never activated the WooCommerce plugin…

So this isn’t a problem that has come up before?

I figured out one bug that kind of relates to this problem… I had originally typed in all category slugs with underscores and they weren’t working at all. Finally, I figured out that they only except hyphens. Then they started working.

    Don’t know if it relates.

WP 4.4 changed the way the handle taxonomies, as you have the latest theme and not the latest WP that could be the cause.

    Thanks.

Deactivated all plugins except for Swift Framework and the problem persists. Also tried deleting all custom CSS. Still no luck.

    Please advise.

    Hi Tim,

The only explanation is the output is looping through all different projects but in their order (not by random), however as the output is set to 3 they are pulling through in that order which could be why you just see the first three categories.

Do you have a test site when I can output the WP_Query array? Can you also add the FTP details?

    Thanks.

Thanks for reporting this, I have reported this to our lead developer for further investigation.

It looks like the query is not looping for each supplied category and returning the associated post id’s, rather it’s stuck on the first category as we are seeing.

    Thanks.
