  Hi,

  I have installed the new theme update but when I Live preview the new site many of my customisations are lost. I’m using a child theme to input custom css. Do I not need to activate the new updated theme?

  Yes, the preview is not always accurate, please just activate the theme

  So when updating the theme if you have customizations and have done all the work on the child theme it will not delete all of your work right? So what do you do after you finished installing the new update?

  Yes if you have edited the parent theme the changes will be overwritten, that’s why you should try not to edit the parent theme
