  Immediately after updating the Atelier theme to version 1.8, my site moved approximately 2 inches below the top of page. Now there is a large black band (I assume the background, which is set to black) above the header.

  Please tell me how to remove it.

  Can you try deactivating your plugins to see if that fixes the issue?

  I have deactivated all plugins with no success. This was not here before the update and nothing changed on the site, except updating to new version via WP dashboard (chose theme twentyfifteen – deleted aleteir – uploaded new aletier – reselected aletier child theme.)

  Does this process have anything to do with it?
