    Hi there!

We recently ran an Onpage SEO check on one of our costumers WordPress site that uses the Joyn Theme. The SEO tool gave us a report that we used h1 as heading twice. We then checked the site and discovered that the top menu bar in the joyn theme seems to be using h1 as text. You can see it in the screenshot attached. Since this is an obstacle to completely optimize the website, we would like to know if there is any chance you could change that?

    Thank you for your response.

the first screenshot attached is where it seems to be h1 as text in the top menu, the second screenshot is a normal headline that uses h1.

    best regards,

By default there is only 1 h1 that is the one with the page Title, if exist any other h1 it was added in the content page.
Do you want to remove the h1 from the page title and use your own inside the content?

    Hi!

Thank you for your responses. @rui that is exactly what I meant. Since we use the h1 for our own content, because this is better for SEO we would like to remove the h1 from the page title. Is this possible?

    thank you,
    hm

You’ll have to add this code to your child theme’s functions.php file: http://pastie.org/10526192 and replace all of the h1s with the tag you would prefer to use
