    Hi guys,
Hope someone can give me a hand. I’m not looking for SEO help or anything. But I’ve noticed that all of our google rankings have basically vanished since switching to the Atelier theme. We had a basic page setup prior to the switch and it was being picked up by google at the top whenever we put the brand name in.

    Url is la-geometric.com.

I’ve setup an account with Google Web Masters and there are no penalty notifications, or messsages from google. The site also appears to be crawled.

I’ve read some people saying it could be the robot.txt file, but again there doesn’t appear to be any issues popping up on the GWM.

The website is not being indexed at all. Have you guys experienced anything like this? Is there anything I need to do? I’ve also contacted WP Engine and they’ve said it has to be something in website itself and wouldn’t be caused by the hosting.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Have you checked your robots.txt file?

Also please also check: Settings > Reading > Uncheck Search Engine Visibility.

Appreciate the quick reply David. What should I be doing to the robot text file? Seen that pop up a lot in troubleshooting on google, but no idea what needs doing to it.

Double checked the reading settings. The tick box is unchecked.

Can you add your URL and a WP login for us to help further?

    Hi,

Everything looks normal, I am not an SEO expert so I cannot advise you.

However, I would expect your ranking to return to normal as Google starts to crawl your site regularly.

Have you installed YOAST SEO plugin and added a sitemap?

Has your site been in maintenance mode or hidden behind a holding page recently?

Google rankings do not tend to change immediately, SERPs are something that gradually change over the course of days and weeks.

    Cheers,
    David.
