Hi,
I’m having trouble restricting the height of the portfolio items (to mimic an example page). Please see attached.
Please advise.
Thanks!

I think is related with the proportion ratio of the image.
Our image is 2000 x 847
http://dante.swiftideas.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/SAAP_thin-2000×847.jpgTry to crop it before upload with that proportion to get similar height.

August 27, 2015 at 6:24 pm #208241Hi,
I checked that before posting. Doesn’t seem to be the issue – my image is 992 × 850…
Also, there are clear borders on the image in the template page http://themeforest.net/item/dante-responsive-multipurpose-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/6175269 which mine doesn’t have.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks,

I’ve just revisited this and the portfolio image is still far too big for the page. If you see attached, I’ve shown this compared to the example page http://dante.swiftideas.com/portfolio/saap/.
I’ve checked the image size and tried this with significantly smaller images (as low as 235×201), and this is still displaying in this over-large format.
Can you please advise how I change this so that it is a better size?
Thanks,

September 11, 2015 at 1:18 am #212174Hi Ned,
The issue here is the aspect ratio. Ours is a landscape image, whereas yours is a square image. It will always be taller because the image is resized in width to fit the page, and the height will make sure it’s still the same aspect ratio.

September 11, 2015 at 9:42 am #212244Hi Ed,
Thanks for the input. So I suppose my question is then – how to I get the image to not auto-size to that size?
Alternatively, is there a workaround where I could perhaps remove this image all together from a portfolio page and simply add an image block that I am able to have more control over (like on other page types)?
Thanks,
NedSeptember 14, 2015 at 10:33 am #212636Hi Ned,
1)
You could stop the resize using this custom CSS. A better option for you as mentioned is manually inserting a page builder image (no.2).
figure.media-wrap img { height: inherit!important; width: initial; max-width: initial; }
2) You can remove the portfolio thumbnail Meta Options => Detail Media Options => Post detail type => None
Thanks,
David.September 15, 2015 at 5:35 pm #213278Hi guys,
Thanks for the input.
Seems as though that CSS isn’t helping, so how can I remove the main image from displaying so that I can insert a page builder image?
Thanks,
NedSeptember 15, 2015 at 5:55 pm #213289Hey,
You can remove the portfolio thumbnail Meta Options => Detail Media Options => Post detail type => None

DavidSeptember 15, 2015 at 6:07 pm #213295Hey David,
Not sure if I’m explaining myself clearly. I’ve changed the post detail type to ‘none’, cleared my cache and then portfolio main image is still showing…
How do I remove this – so that I can replace this with a page builder image?
Thanks,
