    Hi,
I am using Contact Form 7 on my website, but I am having some problems.

    1. The acceptance field does not deactivate the submit button as it should. (I presume this could be an AJAX issue)
    2. When Submit is clicked it reloads the page instead using AJAX.

The Contact Form 7 documentation mentions 3 reasons for this:

    • JavaScript file is not loaded
    • Conflicts with other JavaScript
    • HTML structure is not valid

I disabled all plugins and tested the form with the same results. I ran the page through validator.w3.org and got 2 errors:

    1. End tag for body seen, but there were unclosed elements.
    2. Unclosed element div. <div id=”container”>↩

My page included several warnings as well, so I created a page with only essential text and all warnings were gone but the errors remained.

I am not sure if I have made a mistake in the setup of the theme somewhere to get these errors.

The contact form is on http://www.camplionheart.org.au/sponsorship/
the page I used to validate is http://www.camplionheart.org.au/empty/

    Hi,

There look to be a couple of 3rd party plugins causing JS errors which maybe causing this, can you deactivate all plugins apart from Swift Framework / WooCommerce & Contact Form 7?

Thank you David. The plugin causing the problem was Contact Form 7 – PayPal Add-on, which is essential for this form. I will need to work with them to figure our the problem.

That takes care of the Contact Form 7 issue. The html validator is still giving the two errors. IS there any solution for that?

    Hi @levonk

Do you have any child theme file customisations? This looks to be an issue with an outdated header/footer.php file.

    Hi Ed,

I am using the child theme provided in the download as is. I have not made any customisations yet. The only reason I use the child theme is to have the option of customisation.

I can activate the original theme and test that, but there were no changes done at all to the child theme from the downloaded file.

Can you check with the main theme active? Unable to replicate this locally.
