Hi — I could use your help to troubleshoot the reason why I can’t switch out of Swift Page Builder into Classic Editor for editing pages on my client’s site, and as to why the main navigation drop-down menus do not appear. I built the home page but after that point handed the site over to my client to maintain. They tell me there hasn’t been any custom code added to the theme, but we are using form code in the Home page. I’ve also deactivated all plugins with no improvement. Any insight would be appreciated, thank you.

It may be worth mentioning that my client had their developer to look at the theme code and they wanted to ask about the use of the $ shortcut in functions.js and conflicts with plugins that use/load your own version of jQuery.

Discovery: When I disable the Swift Page Builder (in Theme Options > General Options) the main menu drop-downs appear. So when the Swift Page Builder is activated, it conflicts with the drop-down menu somehow. But I still don’t know what is causing that conflict, whether it’s one of our plugins (not sure how if all are deactivated) or some custom code. Are you able to spot any custom code added to the theme, or is that too time-consuming?

    Hi,

It’s happening in what specific page?
I tried to edit the existing draft page and it seems fine.

What dropdown doesn’t work? can you provide a screenshot?

Thank you for responding — the main navigation is acting funny; for instance, on the Home page I can hover and see drop-down menus for these links: Learn, Free, Work With Me, Shop, and About. But when I click into an inside page (for instance, Learn [in the Learn drop-down menu]), the main nav no longer shows the drop-down menu. And sometimes when I click back to the Home page from an inside page, the drop-downs stop working there too. Very strange. Not sure I can provide you with a screenshot of the drop-down not working… but I’ll try to get it to work again (by re-loading the page) and post a pic of what should be showing.

Here’s a screenshot of the working drop-down; I had to open the site in an incognito window and refresh once to get it to work :/ Weird. I wonder what’s causing this conflict?

Was checking it and exist some errors in the Javascript console. This is not related with the Swift Page Builder since it’s not loaded in the frontend.

I saw some requests from Ontraport, are you sure the theme files aren’t customized?
Can you try to disable also the custom css.

Usually when something works in Incognito it means that it’s cache issues. It’s not working for me in Incognito.
Maybe was when I disabled the plugins some minutes ago.

I’ll remove the custom CSS and see if that’s the issue (you’re probably right); but we have placed two Ontraport forms into the Home page and one in all interior pages just by copying & pasting code into a text block.

Ok give it a try. Not sure about that form, it can be the next step to check.

I removed all custom CSS, saved, and refreshed the site to find the drop-down nav still doesn’t work on the Home page nor on interior pages. Are we quickly determining that the Ontraport forms are causing the issue, then?
