hi guys. A few random questions wasnt sure where to put them so, all in one thread.
-The product images on my home page are supposed to have a price overlay on them. They did before the update, now that’s gone Not sure how to get that back
-images on the front page link to the products which is great, but the theme element has the option enabled to show shop link.. both on the ‘guys’ and the ‘girls’. the shop link isn’t showing.
-is there a way to create a home page for mobile that is totally different than laptop home page? i like the idea of being able to have 2 or 3 elements side by side on the site on laptop view.. but it wont do this on mobile. No matter what I try, it shows the images as one large image that takes up the mobile screen. you either have to scroll down to see the next one, or if i edit it to be a slider, it shows all images on the slider – but wont show guys/girls in one line horizontally like you see on the site. (hope that makes sense)
-is there a way to have the cart icon actually say cart instead of the cart icon?
-trying to add a menu to the top of the page on mobile, like there is on laptop/web but not sure which menu that would be.. i’m only finding the slide out menu on the left side, a footer menu.. is there a tutorial page somewhere that describes what some of these extra functions are? There is so much in this theme that its #1.overwhelming #2.endless possibilities! any tutorials or help files would be a great start.
July 19, 2015 at 9:32 am #195845actually when i go into the category of a particular product from the link on the home page (i.e. girls leather and wrap bracelets) it DOES show the price overlaid on the image – but it covers up the text of the image description. see here:
http://nightmaircreations.com/product-category/girls/girls-bracelets/statements/
is there a way to fix this? move the price to the right of the image? move the text to the left?
also, one of my elements is showing the ‘shop’ page link.. i used shop products, then chose categories as ‘asset type’.. the other ones that arent showing the shop link are shop products, asset type top rated. As i dont actually have any ratings on my site i’m wondering if there is a better option to use that would def show the shop link. I cant use categories, as i want to have the image link to all the ladies items not just one category of ladies item.
July 22, 2015 at 11:28 am #196625Hi,
Could you add a WP login so we can take a look at your page setup?
Q1) What “Product Display Type” are you using for the product page builder?
Q2) Do you mean the “View all products” is not linking to the category?
Q3) Within the page builder elements, there is the “Visibility Option”, this allows you to show/hide chosen elements for different screen sizes.
Q4) This is not possible by default You would need to work with a developer to further assist you.
Q5) This is not possible by default. The “Mobile Menu” is the default small screen menu display.
Q5) Your shop tag display is not correct, each is on a new line. Have you made any customisation to this via the core theme or a child theme?
– What theme version are you on?
– What is the plugin Swift Framework version?
Thanks.

If you edit your page, select a “Shop Products” page builder element within the page, click the edit icon. Change the setting “PRODUCT DISPLAY TYPE” to “Gallery”.
Q2)
Ok no problem.
Q3)
Great, this is a very useful option to utilise.
Q4)
See screenshot, you product categories are on a new line for each.
Q5)
To change the amount of “Products per page”, please navigate to WooCommerce => Settings => Products => Display => “Products per page”. Enter a number to show, example 16 for your query.
Thanks,
David.July 24, 2015 at 5:43 pm #197514Q1) i think i have it figured.. choosing ‘categories’ gives you a mix of all your items so i cant use that. using featured gives you only what you have ‘starred’ in the products section as featured items. Using Latest Products seems to give me a mix of all the guys and all the girls. If i want to change the order of how the products show up in the slider.. i would change the date on the product itself and then use ‘order by date’ in the shop element?
Q4) no screen shot? def want to figure this one out
Q)5 got it. Is there any way to have two shop pages? to have the shop guys go to the male oriented store items, and the shop girls to the female oriented store items? i’m playing around with the woo commerce settings and it basically looks like from there that if i use ‘shop’ it is going to show all the items in one store. i’m obsessive about organization and navigation 🙂
July 27, 2015 at 7:50 am #197899one more question .. i figured out how to change the order of the products on my products page, as well as my ‘guys’ page but i’m wondering .. on the girls page i have the products listed as well as the categories listed.. is there a way to choose which order they show up in? here is the page i mean – i would love to be able to have the bracelets first, and the necklaces second.
July 27, 2015 at 10:02 am #197956Hi,
Yes, no problem you can do that.
Step 1) In the page builder for that section, change the order to “ID”.
Step 2) Install this plugin and activate it. Navigate to Products => Taxonomy Reorder. Drag & drop to reorder as you need. https://wordpress.org/plugins/taxonomy-terms-order/

July 28, 2015 at 8:16 am #198420fabulous! takes a bit of getting used to but is making navigation so much more efficient… one more question. I have a guys bracelet category of ‘stone bead bracelets’ and it works in the guys menu very well. is there a way to add that same group of products to the girls category as stone bead bracelets as well? I have girls chain bracelets and guys chain bracelets but the products are completely different.. for the stone beads i want to figure how to share the same set of 6 products under both guys subcategory and girls subcategory.
July 28, 2015 at 8:22 am #198425oh.. and going back through this thread there are a few minor things i am still trying to sort out.. the price of the product still sits on the left of the product image and covers the text when you hover over the product image.. any way to shift that to the right side? or shift the text to centre or right?
also.. Q4 never got sorted i think?
See screenshot, your product categories are on a new line for each. — is this still relevant? do i need to fix it?
July 28, 2015 at 1:49 pm #198560Hi, Great news glad to hear you are working it out nicely.
Q1)
“I have a guys bracelet category of ‘stone bead bracelets’ and it works in the guys menu very well. is there a way to add that same group of products to the girls category as stone bead bracelets as well?”
– You can likely edit those products and just add the ‘girls category’ also if they are going to be both ‘boy category’ and ‘girls category’?
Q2)
“I have girls chain bracelets and guys chain bracelets but the products are completely different.. for the stone beads i want to figure how to share the same set of 6 products under both guys subcategory and girls subcategory.”
– I would need to look at your category setup further to understand this, would doing the above q1 not do this? When using the page builder you can output multiple category combinations of products into one output.
Q3)
Sure, I can give you some CSS for this. As you have a few different product display output styles can you screenshot me the one you wanted aligned to the right?
Q4)
We have an update for this coming out this week that will stop each product category from being on a new line, rather they will display next to each other like: Cat 1, Cat 2, Cat 3.
Thanks,
David.July 28, 2015 at 9:34 pm #198727Hi David. for Q1 + 2 i think now with that new plugin that allows me to change the order of things, it might be simple to do what i want to do.. prior to this, if for instance a turquoise stone bead bracelet had the category of ‘guys’ and ‘girls’ it would show up on both of those sliders on the main page – which showed my product doubled up.. on mobile that takes up a lot of real estate to show same product twice.. i think now with being able to shift the order, i can put things in two different categories, and shift them around so they dont show up as the first two items under guys, and under girls.
Q3 — screen shot wont work as i need to hover the mouse to get the effect – go here: http://nightmaircreations.com/product-category/guys/ — hover the mouse on any of the products there and you will see that the price overlaps the text on hover.
Q4 okey dokey. Got the new update notice this morning. havent installed yet but will do that today.
thanks!
July 29, 2015 at 10:16 am #198857Great, looks like you have this sorted.
Q3) Sure, I see that. Please add this CSS to your theme options CSS input:
.product .cart-overlay .shop-actions>* { float: right!important; } .product .cart-overlay .shop-actions { min-width: 215px!important; }
Thanks,
David.July 30, 2015 at 4:51 pm #199431hi David, it worked. the pricing is on the right side of the image and most of the text is now visible on hover! but.. just want to ask.. the code in the css area now has 3 caution symbols beside a line of code..
line one says: the universal selector (*) is known to be slow
line 2 and 5 – the use of !importantassuming this isnt a big deal?
August 3, 2015 at 11:52 am #200132Hi,
In this instance I think we can safely ignore those warnings.
Using
!important
is not great in terms of CSS standards, however when overriding small tweaks like this from within a theme options panel it unfortunately can be needed. Thanks,
David. -
