    yes, mohammad, i found the de_DE as well.
    unfortunately it is not the formal version that i am looking for.
    i thought there has been a german formal version, where ‘Du’ is changed to ‘Sie’.
    eg. ‘Alternativ kannst Du in der Sitemap (unten) blättern.’ should sound something like ‘Alternativ können Sie in der Sitemap (unten) blättern.’
    anyway, thanks for your quick support. please let me know if there is a formal german somewhere!
    best,
    s

    Hi,
    I am afraid. There is no formal version of German language.
    Thanks
    Mohammad

    hej mohammad.

    just to let you know: de_DE_formal ‘Deutsch (Sie)’ is pretty new to WP core.

    if i would do my own translation, where should i place the .po/.mo files?
    /wp-content/languages/themes? or directly in my-child-theme? (with or without languages folder?)

    best,
    s

    Hi,
    You need to place your language files at /wp-content/themes/dante/language.
    Thanks
    Mohammad

    Oooops, no way of keeping that save from (theme) updates?

    Hi,
    1- Create a directory named language under under child theme directory. Place your translations files there.

    2- And paste this code at functions.php of child theme.

    add_action( 'after_setup_theme', 'my_child_theme_setup' );
    function my_child_theme_setup() {
        load_child_theme_textdomain( 'swiftframework', get_stylesheet_directory() . '/language' );
    }

    Thanks
    Mohammad
