    Hi,

    I have 1000s of posts to import into the directory with Lat/long coordinates but not the actual address. The import works well and the correct location shows on the directory listing page. However, the listings don’t show on the map unless the address field is also field out.

    How can I tweak the directory map to show based on lat/long only and not need the address field?

    Hi,

    I do not think this is possible, how have you imported those entries?

    You would likely need to use the Google Geo API to generate the address from the latitude/longitude meta data. – Do you have a developer to work with?

    Hi,

    Thanks for checking.

    I have been using pronamic google maps with a custom post type for now. However, I am getting issues loading so many posts on the map and wanted to try to use the built in facility to reduce extra plugins. The directory would be perfect, so I was trying to test it. Pronamic maps works with just lat/long.

    No problem,

    If you want to generate the addresses programmatically, download all the posts into a CSV. A developer would then need to create a database and loop through each entry with the GeoCode API and populate the missing address field from the returned API.

    – Sorry I cannot provide the code, but this should give you an idea of what the developer would need to do.
