August 27, 2013 at 11:12 pm #18470Hi there,
We have included a po file in the theme’s /language folder for you to translate. This contains the static strings.
You could also use the WPML strings plugin.

The main problem is the menu. the main language is italian and second language is English. The weird thing is about the translation. I am using WMPL but it seems doesn’t work the menu translation. After made the italian menu, i select the option ” Translate English ” but there is something strange after made the new English menu. The strange thing is when i select the italian menu, inside the admin, the menu disappear. Can you guys help me to figure out why?
Many thanks

Unfortunately our support cannot cover anything that is not an issue with the theme.
If you are struggling with WPML, I would recommend asking the guys over at their support forum for some tips.
Have you created a separate menu for each language?

August 30, 2013 at 10:12 am #19032I made 2 separate menu. The problem is that one of 2 menu doesn’t hold pages inside. It’s hard to explain, but pages disappear once i select one of the menu inside the admin. I gave you login and pass, just to try and check if is the template issue or WMPL issue. In case you could fix otherwise i will report the problem. Can you try ?
In the previous email you said:
We have included a po file in the theme’s /language folder for you to translate. This contains the static strings.
Could you please explain how translate working with " po file " ?
Thanks for the support
P.August 30, 2013 at 10:42 am #19050I could use po file without WMPL, but be honest with you i didn’t understand how to use it.
I have read the manual, but is still not clear. Sorry ;(August 30, 2013 at 11:11 am #19074Sounds like that would be a WPML issue, as it’s backend functionality.
Check out this guide for translating – http://codex.wordpress.org/Translating_WordPress (don’t worry about the code parts)

August 30, 2013 at 1:15 pm #19146You can find the PO file in /language, and you can translate it using POEdit. You can find guides on how to do this by searching on Google.

August 30, 2013 at 1:23 pm #19150I delete WMPL and i am trying to use poedit. I followe the manual, i made new file it-IT.po – and i uploaded. I made 2 menu italian and english and it works without wmpl. I opend wp-config.php and i set up italian language as main lang.
When i select the language switcher i cannot find italian in the list, but i have English, spanish, german, french. why?
I am also wondering how to translate the menu with links and how to set up the shop for italian and english. Could please explain step by step how to do?
I will really appreciate … without you help i am not going to be able to do that.
Thanks in advance
P.August 30, 2013 at 1:24 pm #19151The language switcher only works with WPML. For PO file translation, this only allows the site to be in 1 language.
If you need both, then it’s WPML that you’ll need.
