Hello
I’m having an issue with images not being pulled from cloudfront via S3 on iPhone or iPad, can anyone advise please.
Both devices are trying to pull the full image, not the cut down one.
Link as above but it happens on most if not all of the blog pages.

So I just have a blank space.
Thanks
Shane

Those images aren’t showing to me in the desktop also.Probably you have them in Cache.
Try to disable the CDN to see if it works, it seems some wrong configuration in the CDN.-Rui

Ok I can do that but that means all images including the front end images will be loading from nowhere, maybe my bucket policy.
OK thanks, weird though cause even if I clear all my cache, they are still there.
I’ll get onto Amazon and see what they say.
Thanks

May 6, 2015 at 5:08 pm #172521No problem. some times it’s necessary to purge all the content and synchronize again.
Good idea. Check with them.-Rui
May 6, 2015 at 5:15 pm #172522Hi Rui
I just checked my bucket and cloudfront and can see that the images from the front page are loading even for the iPhone and iPad, so it looks like there is nothing wrong with my CDN.
Any other ideas, I’ve laso just unrestricted my bucket access, it is in progress at the moment though so, probably not serving any images at the moment.
Thanks
Shane

I turned that off on purpose as I did not want massive file names, gone from my desktop as well now, but the distribution is still in progress.
It was all working fine, nothing has changed, thats the strange thing.
Thanks
ShaneMay 6, 2015 at 5:37 pm #172537somehow those files are not in that path. Check the server error log for any additional info.

May 6, 2015 at 5:42 pm #172538Hi Rui
All Links work straight from the cdn
http://cdn.scaleviz.co.uk/today.jpg
http://cdn.scaleviz.co.uk/today-600×450.jpg
Nothing wrong with CDN
Also front page working, I can see the links served
& cloudfront is deployed now, all I did was unrestrict images direct from S3, so that would make no difference anyway.
Surely the theme should load the appropriate sized image dependant on device??? or not??? can you enlighten me.
Thanks
ShaneMay 6, 2015 at 7:25 pm #172550Hi Rui
So weird, even though the image paths were there, they were showing as blank, I’ve deleted them and re-added them from the CDN, iPhone front page not loading now.
Can you confirm if a mobile device loads a smaller image or the same image, there are lot of cut down images, although none from the blog are being used.
I don’t know whats going on.
Thanks

May 7, 2015 at 12:03 pm #172790Glad it’s sorted. Something in the CDN, it could take sometime to propagate recent changes.

…and Rui your not gonna beleive this, but the images on the iPhone for the front page, 2nd swift slider down from header, (interface demo) now seem so be working too well, they are tiny is there anything I can do about this, I prefered them when they were proper size, everything was nicley in line now its all over the place, ipad & desktop are fine.
bloody computers
thanks

I’m closing this thread now, not sure what the hell is going on, but I ony had 400MB free on my phone so I thought I’d delete some stuff, now got 1.1 gig and all works fine again, not sure whats gonna happen tomorrow, but the site works on my misses phone (iPhone 4), so it must have been my phone, anyway.
Thanks
