My client has a specific brand of product that cannot be sold online. They can list it and provide all details about it, but online sales for this brand are prohibited.

Is there a way to enable catalog mode for a specific product brand/type?

Or is there a way to remove the Add To Cart button for a specific product brand/type?

    Hi,

You just need to don’t have stock on it. It will appear but impossible to buy.

Hmmm, that would sort of work.

I’m getting the Out of Stock notification now, which isn’t a bad thing but technically the product isn’t out of stock.

Is there a way I can customize the Out of Stock notification for a specific product?

I think it’s possible. Just need the link to that specific product.

But will it be customizable on any random product easily? It won’t be on just one link/product.

My concern is having it easy for the client to customize as needed.

I can send you the link but have to remove some password protection from the site if the above is feasible.

provide me the link so I can look at it and think the best solution.
Maybe using a specific category to all those products.

    Here is the link: http://civil.wpengine.com/product/nike-sb-dunk-low-disposable/

Please keep in mind this will be on a per-product basis, needs to be easily configurable for client.

    Thanks ahead of time!!

The best way is really adding an additional category tho the desired products. Let’s call it “Catalog”

This product would have 2 categories – Footwear, Catalog

Then with css we can hide the out of stock notice only for that products that belong to the Catalog category.

Just need to know the slug you will create for the new product category.
Don’t see any other easy option that don’t involve a more complex customization.
