I was working on a creating a new page and initially used the url website.com/home, later on I changed the URL (using the permalink editor) to website.com/dallas. Now that the website.com/dallas page is live, website.com/home is still there and I’m worried about duplicate issues. Also, when I assign website.com/dallas at the “parent” page for other pages, it inserts the /home/ URL. Any ideas?

    Hi,

Try to go to the Settings-> Permalinks and hit the Save button.
If it doesn’t work we will need your site url and admin credentials.

    Thanks

    Hi,
I see that page is displaying http://theurbanavenue.com/home and page is giving http://theurbanavenue.com/dallas 404 error. How can i consider both pages to duplicate?

    Thanks
    Mohammad

Did you login and change something? The original URL for this page was /home. I had changed it to /dallas before posting this thread. It looks like someone logged in and changed it back to the original /home. I’ve since changed it back to /dallas and it is working properly now. The /home page is showing 404 as it should. What did you guys change? I sent Rui my login info. I’m guessing he did something?

It looks like you did change something. Now none of my portfolio pages are displaying properly anymore. I had my developer remove /portfolio/ from the URL of all portfolio pages, and now I have to but /portfolio/ back in to make it work. Check out this page for example: http://theurbanavenue.com/dallas/uptown-dallas-apartments/ – try to click on a property page

Maybe you can help me with this. I am hoping to accomplish the following URL structure for my portfolio pages:

/dallas/uptown-dallas-apartments/property-name instead of portfolio/property name — I also want the breadcrumbs to follow this format. Can you help with this?

    Hi,
You have theme version 1.4.3 installed. Please upgrade to 1.62. Now you will have option to change the permalink of portfolio at Admin -> Settings -> Permalink.
    Thanks

Is it safe to upgrade the theme if I’ve had a lot of custom development work done on the current version?

You should make changes through a child theme, you should not edit the parent theme unless it is small changes that you can remember to make again when you update the theme

Is there a way for me to find out where these changes have been made? I’ve had several different developers work on this site. Can I compare the unaltered parent-theme files to my parent-theme files to see if there are any differences? Or is there an easier way to find out?

They should of taken notes of what they changed. It would be impossible to search through all of the files to find the differences

Okay. My developer is saying he doesn’t think I am using the “child” theme. So I guess that means all edits were to the parent theme. Does that make sense? And if so, does that mean I cannot upgrade without losing the custom development?

    Hi,

Only using a software like KDIFF3 to compare your current theme file with the inital version.
