Is it possible to have a complete Masonry page which doesn’t go to a new page – just opens in a stylish lightbox of some kind? So I can have a wall of photos that I can just click on a thumb and then go through that way, keeping the background? Hope that is clear!

    Hi

So you don’t want the single portfolio item page, just a lightbox? If so you can use the gallery type instead of the portfolio type 🙂

I am missing something, then – I have two installs of Cardinal – one which shows Team and Galleries – the other doesn’t. I have imported the Musician theme for one opf them, and galleries are not an option. How can I introduce that to the sidebar, please? Thanks!

The musician demo doesn’t have any galleries.

You need to add a gallery post type and then insert the gallery page builder asset on your page

I’m sorry, but i don’t know how to add a Gallery post type. I don’t see any options when I add a new post. What makes the admin options in Sidebar include things like Gallery, or Team etc? Thanks for your clarification!

You’re using Cardinal right? Then in your WP admin you should have Post, Page, Team, Gallery, Portfolio etc. If you don’t then you’ve likely disabled them in Theme Options > Custom Post Type Options

This is really odd. I haven’t disabled anything… Please see attached for admin sidebar.

    I see – thanks! I was getting worried there…

Quick other question – is it worth making a child theme?

I got you – now, this is really good, but I have a couple of questions too.

These images are all “mini galleries” with just a couple of images. How can I get the effect of lots of tiled SINGLE photos which will then open a lightbox – possible? Can I have a mixture of the two on same page, even? single pics and galleries? If not, single pics but tiled is what I am after…

    Portfolio

    Thanks!

    Hi

You would just have to put the images in the same gallery

Not a well considered reply, Kyle – don’t you see it takes twice the time to answer with a few words?

As I say, I want one gallery but many tiled images, wherr clicking any of them opens a lightbox where the whole lot can be viewed this was including fullscreen. In fact, most people would, I think!

    Is THIS possible?

    Ta.

I don’t understand what you’re trying to do.

    Here are your options:

Add a gallery to the page, this will be a tiled gallery, when you click one of the image all the images of the gallery will open in a lightbox which you can scroll through.

You can add single image assets to the page, however when you click these only that image will open in the lightbox.

OK what I want is – we have masonry style set of images. Click any and you get a gallery. OR integrate a plugin such as nextgen gallery. OK?
Also, could you address my other questions on headers, box content etc today, please? I just want a centred text box, with about a 100 pixel gap, showing above a background, with a fancy header correctly positioned where the text does not look too high up… Please see my posts, spending bloody hours trying to do a simple thing now.
