Just noticed that on safari the swift slider header seems very jerky as you scroll up. It seemed that when I was using another font it wasn’t as bad. Is there any fix/workaround?

    Hi

You seem to have a lot of images missing (see screenshot) Can you check this please?

Ahhh ok. Is this the cause of the slowness you think?

To resolve should I just deactivate the elements with those images and sort that out afterwards?

Could you perhaps suggest a plugin that deletes unused images?

The images aren’t there, but you have items trying to call the images, and as they don’t exist you are getting the errors. You need to delete the items that are trying to use those images.

The X2 images might have come from the wp retina 2X plugin which I’ve deactivated. Setup Safari developer tools as per your screenshot but for me I get no error messages and still the jerkiness.

Ive even tried replicating the header on a brand new page – same story.

I haven’t been working on the site for while, and have just returned to look at it. I’m really bothered by the poor scrolling performance that is very jerky and weird. I’ve noticed this not just on the cardinal theme but on other templates on other sites. Some browsers perform better than others.

Is this simply a wordpress/jquery issue?
Could it be the swift slider?
Are certain custom fonts responsible for the problem?
Any hacks/mods or workarounds you could suggest to have a smoother performance.

As much as i like the parallax scrolling effect that is a trend these days its just really performing badly. Please see if you can help.

    Hi @themartist

It’s been disabled on Safari in the latest version for this reason – if the situation does improve then we will re-enable it, but for the meantime it’s better to keep it disabled as not to deter visitors.
