  I have admin dashboard access, but not server level access, to our site which just purchased flexform. As an admin, I went to the dashboard and tried to update to 1.4.3, but when I did so I got an error message that it couldn’t delete the previous theme, and then when I tried to go back to the site, I had all blank (white) pages and couldn’t do anything. I believe our IT person had to go in and reinstall the 1.4.2 version to get it working again. This is a brand-new, clean install with absolutely no content on the site yet. Can you think what would have affected the upgrade this way? I hate to bother our it department again if I try to upgrade and have the same issue.

  Hi,

  Looks like a user permissions issue on your server. Normally, you web server user should be allowed to remove/write files/folders within WordPress, since that’s part of any update procedure.

  If fixing the permissions isn’t an option due to some standards imposed by your IT dep., simply activate a different theme, delete 1.4.2 and then install 1.4.3 as a fresh theme. Theme options and settings will be preserved.
