I am sure that in one of your releases, a search for products returned results presented as products. Now I am back to products presented as blog posts again, an I am not sure why. It could be the latest update (1.71), or some setting I have changed not knowing it also affected search results. Please advice ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi

Go to theme options > header options and set ‘Header Search Post Type’ to ‘products’

But this prevents blog posts from being displayed in the search result, right? A better approach would be to display blog posts as blog posts, and products like products ๐Ÿ™‚ If they can’t fit in the same grid/display, they could go to a section for each. Then you could of course select if you wanted to show products first, or blog posts first… ๐Ÿ˜‰

That would be ideal – I agree. However then you have the issue of paginating both separately – very tricky. Maybe we can just set products to be styled differently. Will see what we can do in future updates ๐Ÿ™‚

I was sure I had seen this in this theme, but I guess it was in one of the others I have spent time with before landing on Cardinal:

Products presented together with blog posts in masonry view, where the blog posts were called articles and the products simply had “Product” as a descripton, making it very easy to know what the search result was.

    Hi

Yes if you have the search set to search ‘all’ post types then it will display the results in the article view, including products. However if you want the search to be a shop search and search only products, along with the styling of products then you can set it to ‘products’.

    Hi @torb,

That’s what we currently have if you have the post results set to All. I’m planning on working on making the products display with a buy button etc.

When will the working search function from Joyn be available in Cardinal? ๐Ÿ™‚

The fullscreen search will likely remain unique to Joyn – we have to have some differential functionality!

However we’ll be implementing similar style results to Cardinal soon ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, styling is one thing – a working search is another ๐Ÿ˜‰

It’ll be in the next update ๐Ÿ™‚
