    Hi there,

I saw a very nice Flexform built site http://www.forestnation.com. He has a really nice looking slider at the top of his site with an opaque text box. Is there a plug in to make a slider look like that? I found his site under the “showcase” link pinned to the top. Could you advise me as to how to make my slider look like that. PS – I am not a coder and have never touched the backend of the site (CSS/HTML) so detailed, easy instructions if possible…

    Thanks so much! Cheers, Di

My site is this one: http://www.dianahancock.com

    Hi

He’s used an image for the transparent background: http://forestnation.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Transparent-background-2-940.png

Which means he’s just uploaded the image as a layer and put his text on top

    Hi,

Add a transparent image in a new Layer in to the slide, that did the trick. He add an transparent image like this http://forestnation.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Transparent-background-2-940.png and then align the text and person photo above it. Hope this helps.

    For example, like this http://take.ms/MrHQ0

    Let us know,

    Thanks,
    laranz.

    Hey Laranz,

Different topic but just a quick one? This shortcode [/one_half] works great on other pages but can you see anything that would be screwing it up one this one? I tried a million things and it doesn’t render properly. So frustrating. I attached the additional CSS that the first web designer I hired added to the site. I am trying as a non designer to fix it myself.

    Thanks so much! Di

    Hi

You have a random opening div below the top paragraph and also a random closing div below the bottom paragraph. Try remove these

That’s because your heading is within the first one_half

You see where you have the [one_half] shortcode at the top and then a <h3> and a <div class="clear"> You need to put them above the [one_half] shortcode
