Hi,
Today I was going to setup a section on my site using some of the features from your Crowdfunding demo.
Correct me if I am wrong, but there appears to be a strange situation with the Crowdfunding plugin the minute…
#1. The Crowdfunding plugin has been removed from WordPress.org and is no longer available to be downloaded from there.
#2. It seems ambiguous as to who actually owns the plugin itself – is it ‘Fundify’, ‘Astountify’ or ‘Ignition Deck’? They them seem to be going down the premium theme route – one through Themeforest and the other through their own website. In both cases, it seems they are integrating the plugin into their themes and not directly releasing the old ‘free’ plugin.
#3. It appears the old ‘free’ plugin is not going to be updated anymore.
I realise this is an external plugin and not directly related to Cardinal support; with that said, it is a major part of one of the Cardinal demos and I am just wondering if I should try and find an alternative Crowdfunding integration for Cardinal?
Thanks.

August 27, 2014 at 3:51 am #104394Hmm.. I was worried something like this might happen. Appthemer seem to have been bought out or something.
You can still get it here by the looks of it – http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/appthemer-crowdfunding
You may wish to look for an alternative solution however, not much we can do about this one – perhaps we’ll choose another plugin to move to in the future.

August 27, 2014 at 10:10 am #104446Yea its an awkward one – Can’t download it from this page:
http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/appthemer-crowdfunding.latest-stable.zipCorrect me if I am wrong – the above plugin is effectively just a custom post type; it relies upon the excellent easy digital downloads plugin for all payment fulfilment etc. In theory, could the plugin as is work for the foreseeable future without any issues?
With that said, if there are no planned updates for it, what happens when WordPress and/or easy digital downloads has a major update which creates issues for the crowdfunding plugin… Not an ideal situation.
August 27, 2014 at 10:47 pm #104699I’ve attached the latest version I have.
It should work fine for the foreseeable future, but obviously no guarantees. We’ll consider investigating in support for a replacement plugin.

When you go to add a new campaign, are you getting the same error from my attached screenshot?

August 30, 2014 at 7:36 am #105476Thanks, error gone now.
Inherent problem with the plugin or something specific to my install?
August 30, 2014 at 10:22 pm #105539Not sure why it wasn’t showing up on my install, but just looked like a plugin issue.
