    Hi,

Is there a way to give a Text Block element (non full-width) a background color?

    Thanks!

    Hi

Yes, you could do this with css by adding an extra class to your text block

    Hi,
How can I get it to cover across the entire browser? It only creates a background color with-in the text block. Setting the background color to the entire site or page doesn’t help because I have multiple areas with different colors. Not using full width text because it is more of a challenge to get the images and text to look right.

Sorry, you stated ‘non full-width’ in your original question, so took that as you didn’t want the background color full width.

The full width text box is the only way to do it, and there’s no difference between a full width text box and a normal text box apart from the background being full width, so you shouldn’t have any troubles using the full width text box that you wouldn’t have with using the normal one

    Hi,

Sorry for the confusion. Yes I want background color to cover full width. Looks like I will have to use the the Full Width Text Block. But I will have to disagree on there not being any difference. The very fact that you can’t set a background color for a text block(without CSS) but you can with a full width is one difference. And the fact that you can have up to 4 text blocks across the page is another. I understand why they are similar. But the formatting of text and images in a basic html set up is a nightmare, always has been. Granted, I’m not a good coder, a lot of formatting in html just doesn’t make sense to me. I’ve always thought it could be more intuitive for formatting with text and images. I’m a designer, I just want things to be where I put them. Thats what makes the individual text blocks good for formatting content across the page, more or less. It at least separates things intuitively for a better design.
One suggestion for possible theme updates for Flexform or any other for that matter. Create a way to have a background full width text/div behind/around other text blocks/divs, so formatting, in this case and most likely many others, is less of an html work around.

    Thanks for your time.
